Notice of Finding on a Petition to List the
Florida Black Bear
(1990) which states that, "...the requested action may be
warranted". Notice of petition finding (Vol. 56, No.4, pp 596-600, 1991) in which the
Service made a "warranted-but-precluded finding".
Finding
on a Petition to List the Florida Black Bear as a Threatened Species
(1992) which states, "...the Service has determined that listing
the Florida black bear as threatened is warranted but precluded by other
higher priority actions...".
New 12-month Finding for a Petition to List
the Florida Black Bear (1998) which states, "...that
listing as threatened or endangered is not warranted".
Reexamination
of Regulatory Mechanisms in Relation to the 1998 Florida Black Bear
Petition Finding (2004) where the Service concluded, "...that
the existing regulatory mechanisms applicable in 1998 are not inadequate
and do not warrant listing the Florida black bear".
