The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will be conducting a rule development workshop in reference to proposed changes to the Broward County and City of Fort Lauderdale boating restricted area rules. The FWC is proposing to make minor increases to the footprint of specific zones in the Broward County rule (68D-24.008, Florida Administrative Code.) Additionally, the FWC is proposing to incorporate the zones found in the Fort Lauderdale boating restricted areas rule (68D-24.006, Florida Administrative Code) in the Broward rule and make minor changes to the language providing responsibility or authority for marking the zones in both rules.

Pinellas County Boating Restricted Areas - 68D-24.010 FAC

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will be conducting a rule development workshop in reference to proposed changes to the Pinellas County boating restricted areas rule. City of Clearwater officials requested that FWC conduct a review of the boating restricted area rule for Pinellas County to identify regulatory changes needed in the area of the Memorial Causeway Bridge. After a thorough review the FWC identified a possible need to expand the vessel speed restrictions surrounding the Memorial Causeway Bridge and Honeymoon Island Causeway Bridge. These are needed due to the expansion of both bridges which has created vessel traffic patterns that have changed since the last amendment of the Pinellas County rule. Other changes would include updates to rule language and maps to more clearly indentify the boundaries of already existing zones.
