(Flagler & Putnam Counties):
This 15,960-acre lake is a tributary of the St. Johns River. Public access to Crescent Lake can be obtained on the west shore off of Highway 17 in Crescent City. Private access can be obtained from Lake Crescent Resort (386-698-2485). For additional listings of fish camps or more information, please call our Regional Office at 352-732-1225.
Current Forecast:
Falling water levels will limit good access to some areas of the lake. Best bets for largemouth bass will probably be docks, offshore edges, deepwater structure, and vegetation. Early warming of the water will mean that the spawn will most likely be over. Submerged eelgrass beds with enough water to hold fish should be productive in the early morning. The black crappie spawn will most likely have ended in March, and fish will be available in deep water. The bluegill and shellcracker spawn should be in full swing. Worms, crickets and grass shrimp will be the best baits.
