Scientific Collection

The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Freshwater Fisheries Division issues scientific collectors permits under the authority of the Florida Wildlife Code rule 68A-9.002. 

Who needs a permit?

Individuals and institutions who desire to take or possess wildlife or freshwater fish or their eggs for scientific, educational, propagation, exhibition or other justifiable purposes require a scientific collectors permit.  Permits are issued based on the applicant's county and
not on the collection locality.

How can I get an application?

Special Use Permits

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fisheries Division issues special use permits for situations requiring exemptions from the Commission's rules not already covered by existing regulations.
