National Wildlife Refuge - St. Marks Spring Turkey

General Information

A St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) Spring Turkey Permit is a type of limited entry permit that is required in order to participate in some Spring Turkey hunts on St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge.  These are U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service hunts issued by FWC.  If you have questions about the refuge's rules and regulations or would like further information on the hunts, please go to http://www.fws.gov/saintmarks/.External Website Click the "Application Worksheet" link at the bottom of the page for specific hunt dates.

  • Cost: $5.00 to apply, $15.00 per permit.
  • Issuance Method: These permits are issued by random drawing.  Once the drawing is conducted, successful applicants must purchase their permits by the specified deadline.  Permits not purchased by the deadline (See Application Dates & Deadlines below) will be offered on a first come first served basis during Phase II.
  • Exemptions: You must have a permit to participate in these hunts.
  • Restrictions: You may submit one application and receive one permit.
  • Groups: During Phase I only, you and up to four other hunters can choose to apply as a group.  To apply as a group, one person must first apply as group leader and indicate they are creating a group.  They will enter the hunt choices for the group, and be issued a group number at the end of the transaction (prints on receipt).  The group leader must then provide that group number to the group members.  Group members will then need to submit their own applications, but indicate they are joining a group and input the group number.
  • Transferability: These permits are NOT transferable.
  • Guest Permits: Guest permits are NOT available for this permit type.
  • Drawing Results: Drawing results are typically posted within about 2 weeks after the end of the application period.  Check the status of your application External Website
  • Replacements: You can replace lost or destroyed permits online External Website at a license agent, or tax collector office.
  • How to Apply: You can apply online External Website or complete the application worksheet (click Application Worksheet link at bottom of page) and present it to any license agent or tax collector office External Website.
  • How to Get Your Permit: If successful in the Phase I random drawing, you will need to purchase your permit online External Website, at a license agent, or tax collector office.  If in any phase you choose to purchase your permit online, be sure you have access to a printer so that you can print your permit directly from the website. If you get your permit at a license agent or tax collector office, the clerk will provide you with your permit.
