Taylor Wildlife Management Area The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission of the State of Florida, acting under the authority of Article IV, Section 9, of the Florida Constitution, hereby establishes, by order, special regulations for the Everglades and Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area. These special regulations are necessary due to inordinately high water levels associated with recent storm events that have jeopardized wildlife. The special regulations are as follows: (1) The taking of game as defined in section 6SA-1.004, F.A.C. is prohibited except ducks and coot may be taken in accordance with 6SA-13.003, snipe may be taken in accordance with 6SA-13.00S, and frogging is allowed in accordance with 6SA-15.004 (2) Vehicles, airboats, ATVs and other public access are prohibited, except Conservation Area 2A from the L-35B levee north to the east-west airboat trail. (3) This order shall not apply to persons permitted to participate in the statewide alligator hunts, migratory bird hunts, frogging, or persons operating boats within the established canal systems and within 1 mile of adjacent marshes. (4) Persons participating in the statewide alligator hunt, migratory bird hunts and frogging shall use vessels only for access and shall maintain a minimum distance of 100 yards from any tree island or levee to minimize disturbance to terrestrial wildlife jeopardized by high water conditions. (5) Any provisions of Rule 6SA-15.064, F.A.C., which are inconsistent herewith, are hereby superseded. This order shall take effect at 12:01 a.m. on September 10, 2012 and shall remain in effect until rescinded by subsequent order. Specific Authority: Article IV, Section 9, Florida Constitution.
