The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission (FWC) announces that state hunters and anglers can now
provide public comments and feedback on this year's proposed
changes to hunting and fishing rules and regulations.
After completing an internal review, the FWC worked
with other agencies and stakeholders in identifying and
recommending these proposed changes, which may need to be made to
Florida's hunting and fishing regulations.
Hunters and anglers are encouraged to visit
Proposed Rules Explanation to see a listing of proposed changes and
give their public comments and feedback. The last day to submit
comments or suggestions on these changes is Sept. 24, by 5 p.m.
(EDT).
After Sept. 24, FWC staff will summarize all
comments received on each rule change proposal and present those
summaries to its seven-member Commission at its Nov. 17-18 meeting
in Naples.
Any draft rule changes approved at this Commission
meeting will be published in the Florida Administrative Weekly and
considered for final adoption at the February FWC Commission
meeting in Apalachicola. If approved, most rule changes would
become effective July 1, 2011.
