The Lyonia Environmental Center in Deltona is hosting the Florida Scrub-Jay Festival from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, to celebrate this true Florida native. The festival is designed to teach visitors about this beautiful bird and the scrub habitat on which it depends. Admission to the festival, environmental center and the Lyonia Preserve is free.

Hydrilla treatment by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) on Lake Lawne in Orange County is postponed until sometime in March because of the continued cold weather. The treatment was originally planned for Feb. 16.
