Blue crab trap area closure set to end

The harvest of blue crabs from traps in all waters of the St. Johns River system will reopen on Jan. 26.  

If Santa Fe River reaches 17 feet Tuesday, idle-speed, no-wake zone goes into effect

As the water level continues to rise, the Santa Fe River will approach flood stage Tuesday, activating an idle-speed, no-wake zone along a 32-mile segment of the river, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

The Florida Sportsmen's Conservation Association's annual Outdoor Youth Day is Feb. 6 at the Everglades Youth Camp in Palm Beach County. The camp is in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC) J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area.

Any vessel operating in an "idle-speed, no-wake" zone must operate at the minimum speed that allows it to maintain headway and steerageway.
