Federal aid to help Florida's fishing industry requested

Gov. Charlie Crist has asked for federal assistance to help Florida's fishing industries and communities weather adverse impacts of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Specifically, the governor has requested that the U.S. Dept. of Commerce take action under federal law to provide aid to commercial fishermen, charter boat operators and coastal fishing communities.  

Body found, believed to be missing boater

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) investigators are continuing to explore the circumstances leading to the death of a man whose body was found floating in East Bay over Memorial Day weekend.

FWC Facts:
Anyone suspected of boating under the influence must submit to sobriety tests and a physical or chemical test to determine blood- or breath-alcohol content.
