Atlantic snook harvest season opens Sept. 17; other areas remain catch-and-release

The recreational harvest season for snook will be open from Sept. 17 to Dec. 15 in Florida's Atlantic state and federal waters, including Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River. Catch-and-release-only fishing for snook still is legal in all other areas.

Right whales have broad, paddle-shaped black flippers, which is very different than the long, white flippers of humpback whales.
