Osceola shooting range to close for repairs

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission's (FWC) Osceola Shooting Range will be closed for
maintenance on the berm from Jan. 25 through Jan. 27.
The Osceola Shooting Range is located off Forest
Rd. 278 in the Osceola National Forest, near Lake City.
Seven public ranges operate throughout the state.
They are federally funded by the Pittman-Robertson Act, which
levies a tax on sporting arms and ammunition. The U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service distributes that tax revenue to the states for
wildlife restoration, hunter safety training, range construction
and maintenance.
Shooting ranges in the North Florida area, which
are open for public use, are:

Forest Road 88 (north of State Road 40) in the Ocala National
Forest
