The view from 80 feet down.

This image was taken at a Coral Reef/Hardbottom Monitoring Project site in the Dry Tortugas. We are 80 feet down, looking along one of our 12 sampling transects (the yellow tape). The diver visible in the distance is conducting a survey for Clionid sponges. These types of sponges are destructive to reef structure and may be linked to nutrients (like sewage and agricultural runoff).
