Bay Scallop Restoration

FWRI scientists Sara Bergeron and Sarah Stephenson tagging restoration scallops to monitor growth.

One of the goals of FWRI scientists is to restore bay scallops (Argopecten irradians) to areas where natural populations have been depleted. Juvenile bay scallops, or "spat", are grown in cages off docks to plant in target restoration areas.
