Mole Crab Emerita talpoida spp.

Mole crabs, or sand fleas, are a small crustacean that thrives in the intertidal zone of most Florida beaches. These creatures may grow to 1.5" in length and bury themselves in the fluid sand of the swash zone. These animals move with the tides and feed on plankton and detritus.
