Kemps ridley trapped in beach furniture

Large debris such like this lawn chair is one of many threats to marine turtles. This kemp's ridley became entrapped and drowned in this chair. Not only can beach furniture trap turtles, it can also cause a "false crawl" where nesting females encounter a disturbance or obstacle when they come up on the beach to nest and return to the sea without laying any eggs.

Whooping cranes mate for life, but they will take a new mate after the loss of the original. The pair will return to use and defend the same nesting and wintering territory year after year.
