In support of the resource management goals and objectives for the area and to provide a quality experience for all area users, the following recreation activities are allowed.

Wildlife Viewing

Visitors can enjoy an opportunity to see well-managed sandhill habitat with its seasonal displays of wildflowers and wildlife such as gopher tortoises, eastern indigo snakes, fox squirrels, butterflies, woodpeckers, kestrels and a variety of resident and seasonal songbirds

Hiking 

Explore a 3-mile loop trail or an 11.5-mile network of unpaved roads and firebreaks. The rolling terrain provides scenic views and showcases well-managed sandhill habitats and wildlife diversity.



FWC Facts:
Within 24 hours of hatching, young whooping cranes can follow their parents away from the nest. Together, they forage for plants, insects, snakes, frogs and small animals.
