Removed from the state list in 2001
The FWC received a petition to reclassify the
Common Snook in 1999. The snook was evaluated according to
the listing process rules and it was determined removal from the
Species of Special Concern List was warranted. Final action was
taken in 2001 and the Common Snook was removed from the Endangered,
Threatened, and Species of Special Concern List. Below are
links to the petition that was received in 1999, the final
biological status report, and a copy of the 2000 stock assessment
that was used as the species-specific management plan.
