Resources about Alligators for the Media

AlligatorAlligator management staff are under the FWC Division of Hunting and Game Management and are located in 3 offices.  Overall coordination and public hunting are administered in Tallahassee; the Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program is administered in Okeechobee; and alligator farming and private lands programs are administered from Ocala.  Alligator research staff under the FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute are located in Gainesville and Eustis.

FWC Facts:
Cranes are quite omnivorous. They feed on seeds, grain, berries, insects, earthworms, mice, small birds, snakes, lizards, frogs and crayfish, but they do not "fish" like herons.
